Working Bees
Volunteer to help - and get to know other Erko families
Working bees are a great way to get involved and meet other Erko parents, carers, kids and families. Typically held on a Sunday, it's a lovely opportunity to get together at the weekend.
At each working bee, there'll be a list of projects to tackle - with the aim of improving the school playground, gardens and facilities. Some working bees also focus on preparation for upcoming events.
There's always a range of activities (both indoor and outdoor) with tasks suitable for all abilities - no special skills required! Children are welcome (if accompanied by an adult) and lunch is provided.
Or if you'd like to help coordinate the tasks and activities, we'd love to hear from you. If there's something you've spotted that you'd love to see improved, this is your chance!
Playground and gardens
P&C fundraising and working bees have funded and delivered:
-
the edible garden, citrus orchard and olive grove
-
climbing dome in the top playground
-
ball run and sandstone terraces in the lower playground
-
slide, soft-fall and climbing equipment in the lower playground
-
two outdoor chess boards and playground seating in shaded areas
-
brick paving, stairs and gardens leading from the Lucy Woodcock Hall into the lower playground
-
gardens and landscaping throughout the school
Feel free to wander through the beautiful edible garden and pick some herbs or lemons for your dinner.
Other ways to get involved
Household fruit and vegetable scraps are always welcome in our compost bins - simply pop them in at any time.
Parents, carers and children are invited to join regular gardening sessions in the edible garden each Wednesday afternoon from 3:15pm.
